Words Can Mean So Much

I recently have grown quite fond of someone…but it is a very complex situation with more angles and turns than a maze. In evaluating myself and my feelings for him I began to ask myself “What do I want out of life and love?” In asking that question, I realized some words that mean a lot to me. I won’t list out all of their definitions, but they each were significant enough to make my list. My beau often asks why I care so much…and sometimes I don’t think he sees the beauty that lies within him. We haven’t made any type of commitment to each other, but he means so much to me and often it is hard to put my feelings to words. But just in case he is reading this…know that you have a very special place in my heart and with each passing day it grows.

My Words

My favorite of these words is Love. I think it can be simple, it can be passion filled, it has to be reciprocated in order to count and it takes so much courage…to love. I think most of my life I have been blinded by what I thought was love…but now I know that many of my relationships have been filled with many things, but never filled with love.

In order to love someone else, we must first love ourselves. After all, if you aren’t comfortable with you, how can anyone else be? With love comes sacrifice. The ultimate display of love {and sacrifice}…For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life [John 3:16]. What a sacrifice! I am guilty of always wanting things to go my way…sometimes at any cost. I am learning and growing daily. But, you don’t get paid if you don’t do any work…and love is work. I am now not only able, but willing to put in the necessary work. When it is time…if it is meant to be it will be. Until then, I will continue to enjoy this journey that we are on…and I pray that we are able to fulfill its purpose.
So…what do I want out of life? 1. I want to show God that I am grateful for His ultimate sacrifice and reciprocate that love. Being more like Him and less like me. 2. Love. Unyielding love. Eyes wide open love. 3. Success. There's more but I'll stop at 3.

What do I want out of love? Happiness, a love that is all mine, honesty, friendship, devotion, adoration…Simply, Love.

I realize that life {and love} will have ups and downs…but I think if you share life {and love} with the person that God made just for you…it will always be worth it. We should always make sure we love someone worth receiving our love and in turn that we are {in fact} worth loving.
Below is one of my favorite love songs…Love is You by Chrisette Michele. Dedicated to all who have found love and all that are still on the quest for love.

To all that take the time to read my blog, I thank you…and I love you!

Black Panther: Movie Review

Please tell me y'all have seen the movie? If you haven't, don't read this post!

Let me give you a little bit of my back story on this Marvel Cinematic Universe. I am a Marvel fan. I don't read the comics, but the movies?! I'm here for them. Some of them are blah, but I watch them anyway. Why? Because usually they overlap and share stories. So, in preparation for the opening of Black Panther, I watched ALL of the Marvel movies in order of the stories, not the release date. I followed CNET's guide and it was pretty accurate. I did not watch the TV shows because I would still be watching. You don't have to. The movies will fill you in pretty well.

Now, for what I thought.

1. This movie was beautiful! The colors, the wardrobes, the technology, the natural hair, the beautiful black people that starred in this film, it was amazing!

2. The women. OMG. The WOMEN! The strong women in the movie inspired me. Okoye makes me want to shave my hair back off. Nakia makes …

Pura Vida!

Hey y'all!

I keep making promises to do better about posting and then I break those promises. So I won't make any such promise this time!

I wanted to give you all a little run down on a trip I recently took (and LOVED). Two of my sisters and my two best friends and I decided to make a run for the equator. To Costa Rica! We started planning pretty early and got tickets and such purchased. We stayed in Jaco (pronounced Haa-CO). I'm still not sure I'm saying that correctly. You should have seen the looks on the immigration officer's face when I pronounced it as it is spelled. I'm pretty sure he called me an ignorant American.

Anywho, we flew from Charleston because they had the better fares and schedules at the time that we booked. Charleston to Miami to Jan Santamaria Airport. Something happened on our flight and me and my bestie were asked to move to another seat. It was actually better seats than what we had. Since we were so accommodating, we were given some l…

Soup(er) Sunday!

This past Sunday I hosted a Crafty with Canon party. I won the party through House Party (I love this site!).

Initially I was planning to do a few different finger foods. Well, the temperature dropped and I wanted soup. And chili. So I made both! And my sister also made a soup that was super delicious. I used my usual go to chili recipe, except I doubled up the seasonings because I didn't have a chili seasoning pack. I think it actually tasted better! I made it in my electric pressure cooker! It was so much faster and it tasted better than it usually does. I'm in love with my pressure cooker and would like another one. Anyone have one they want to give me?

Anyway, we had fun exploring the Canon Pixma printer and printing out photos and making cute little frames! But the food was really the star of the show! I'm going to link to all of the recipes because aside from small adjustments, none of them were my own!
