Borax!! And a GIVEAWAY!!!

Hey guys!!
Here is another awesome opportunity for you to WIN!! I love being able to share fabulous products with my readers and I appreciate that you are still my readers!

With that being said, I have another GIVEAWAY and an an opportunity for you to WIN cash and prizes!

So, Borax...I'm sure you have all heard of it in some kind of way. A friend of mine visited me recently and saw the box sitting on the table and asked "Isn't this the stuff to kill rats?" In another form yes! Borax has many terrific uses around the house. Below is a list of uses that I have gathered from various sources just so you know how MAGICAL this stuff is! These are in addition to being a natural laundry detergent booster! Borax softens hard water and allows your detergent to work at it's full capacity. I know awesome!
Have you ever used Borax? If so, I would love to know the ways that you have used it!

Cleaning Window and Mirrors: Dissolve 2 T. Borax in 3 C. water. Dip sponge in solution to clean windows and mirrors. You’ll be delighted by the streak free shine.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner: Pour 1 C. Borax in toilet bowl and let stand overnight (lid down to keep out pets). Use brush to wipe away grime the next day. Works great on hard water and rust stains.
Sanitize Garbage Disposals: Pour 3 tablespoons of Borax down the drain and let it sit for an hour. Turn on the disposal, flush with hot tap water. Repeat once/month.
Rug Stains: Dampen area, rub in Borax. Let dry and vacuum. Remember to test a small inconspicuous area of your rug first for color fastness.
Fresh Smelling Rugs/Carpets: Spray a fine mist of water onto your rug, sprinkle on Borax. Vacuum when dry. This method will also kill fleas on your rug.
Urine odor and stains: Same as rug stains, great for pet areas and toddler mattresses.
Fabric: Soak a sponge in a solution of ½ C. Borax dissolved in 2 C. hot water. Rub solution into affected area. Let soak until stain disappears (several hours), rinse well.  For clothing, soak garment in solution of 2 C. Borax to 2 quarts water.
Fine China: Add ½ C. Borax to your dish water for clean and sparkling China.
Weeds: Sprinkle Borax into the cracks of your sidewalk to prevent weeds. Be careful not to get any on your desirable plants, it will eliminate them too.
Dishwasher: Add a tablespoon of Borax to your detergent cup to eliminate water spots on your dishes/glasses.
Pots and Pans: Borax and water will clean your aluminum pots & pans.
Pest Control: A small amount of Borax mixed with powdered sugar will act as pest control. Ants, cockroaches and other creepy crawlers who eat the substance will die as a result. (Apparently, this is not because it’s a toxic substance but rather because Borax is very sharp to an insect and will damage their exoskeleton.)
Drain Cleaner: Mix Borax with boiling water to pour down a blocked drain. Grease melts away.
Cat Litter: Borax mixed in your cat’s litter box will control odor.
Scouring Powder Solution: ¼ C. Borax, ¼ C. Baking Soda, ! ½ C. hot Water. Stir until mixed for a perfect Tub, Toilet and Sink Cleaner.
Stainless Steel/Porcelain Sinks: Combine ¼ C. Lemon juice with 1 C. Borax to form a paste that will remove stains

Black Panther: Movie Review

Please tell me y'all have seen the movie? If you haven't, don't read this post!

Let me give you a little bit of my back story on this Marvel Cinematic Universe. I am a Marvel fan. I don't read the comics, but the movies?! I'm here for them. Some of them are blah, but I watch them anyway. Why? Because usually they overlap and share stories. So, in preparation for the opening of Black Panther, I watched ALL of the Marvel movies in order of the stories, not the release date. I followed CNET's guide and it was pretty accurate. I did not watch the TV shows because I would still be watching. You don't have to. The movies will fill you in pretty well.

Now, for what I thought.

1. This movie was beautiful! The colors, the wardrobes, the technology, the natural hair, the beautiful black people that starred in this film, it was amazing!

2. The women. OMG. The WOMEN! The strong women in the movie inspired me. Okoye makes me want to shave my hair back off. Nakia makes …

Pura Vida!

Hey y'all!

I keep making promises to do better about posting and then I break those promises. So I won't make any such promise this time!

I wanted to give you all a little run down on a trip I recently took (and LOVED). Two of my sisters and my two best friends and I decided to make a run for the equator. To Costa Rica! We started planning pretty early and got tickets and such purchased. We stayed in Jaco (pronounced Haa-CO). I'm still not sure I'm saying that correctly. You should have seen the looks on the immigration officer's face when I pronounced it as it is spelled. I'm pretty sure he called me an ignorant American.

Anywho, we flew from Charleston because they had the better fares and schedules at the time that we booked. Charleston to Miami to Jan Santamaria Airport. Something happened on our flight and me and my bestie were asked to move to another seat. It was actually better seats than what we had. Since we were so accommodating, we were given some l…

Soup(er) Sunday!

This past Sunday I hosted a Crafty with Canon party. I won the party through House Party (I love this site!).

Initially I was planning to do a few different finger foods. Well, the temperature dropped and I wanted soup. And chili. So I made both! And my sister also made a soup that was super delicious. I used my usual go to chili recipe, except I doubled up the seasonings because I didn't have a chili seasoning pack. I think it actually tasted better! I made it in my electric pressure cooker! It was so much faster and it tasted better than it usually does. I'm in love with my pressure cooker and would like another one. Anyone have one they want to give me?

Anyway, we had fun exploring the Canon Pixma printer and printing out photos and making cute little frames! But the food was really the star of the show! I'm going to link to all of the recipes because aside from small adjustments, none of them were my own!
