I'm a Working Mommy!

Everyday I'm hustling!

Well, I'm back to work. I've been back a total of 8 days and I must admit it sucks! But, this is what I must do to ensure that Trinity and I have all we need to survive this cruel world! I miss her so much! I swear she knows that I'm leaving her in the mornings. Luckily I didn't have to put her in daycare. My loving stepmother is caring for her while I'm at work. It really couldn't have worked out better.

When I drop her off, she stares at me until I walk out the door (more like she gives me the stank eye). This breaks my heart! I used to say that there was no way I could ever be a stay at home mom. I'm changing my tune. I totally could do it! But seeing how bills won't pay themselves...

Everyone at work has been really nice and not overhauling me with work. For that I am grateful because some of my coworkers have so much going on I feel bad for them. I'm still playing catch up and trying to reconnect my brain to the world. That is a slow process!

I had to take a month off unpaid and that sucks donkey balls, but I am grateful that I had a job to come back to.

Trinity is now almost 10 weeks old! I can't believe how time has just been flying by! So here is your dose of Trinity!
Tired of me snapping pictures LOL. She was watching Dora!
Power to the People!

I hope everyone has had a great week! Maybe next week I can make it through an entire day without sleeping with my eyes open!

Have a great weekend folks!

Black Panther: Movie Review

Please tell me y'all have seen the movie? If you haven't, don't read this post!

Let me give you a little bit of my back story on this Marvel Cinematic Universe. I am a Marvel fan. I don't read the comics, but the movies?! I'm here for them. Some of them are blah, but I watch them anyway. Why? Because usually they overlap and share stories. So, in preparation for the opening of Black Panther, I watched ALL of the Marvel movies in order of the stories, not the release date. I followed CNET's guide and it was pretty accurate. I did not watch the TV shows because I would still be watching. You don't have to. The movies will fill you in pretty well.

Now, for what I thought.

1. This movie was beautiful! The colors, the wardrobes, the technology, the natural hair, the beautiful black people that starred in this film, it was amazing!

2. The women. OMG. The WOMEN! The strong women in the movie inspired me. Okoye makes me want to shave my hair back off. Nakia makes …

Pura Vida!

Hey y'all!

I keep making promises to do better about posting and then I break those promises. So I won't make any such promise this time!

I wanted to give you all a little run down on a trip I recently took (and LOVED). Two of my sisters and my two best friends and I decided to make a run for the equator. To Costa Rica! We started planning pretty early and got tickets and such purchased. We stayed in Jaco (pronounced Haa-CO). I'm still not sure I'm saying that correctly. You should have seen the looks on the immigration officer's face when I pronounced it as it is spelled. I'm pretty sure he called me an ignorant American.

Anywho, we flew from Charleston because they had the better fares and schedules at the time that we booked. Charleston to Miami to Jan Santamaria Airport. Something happened on our flight and me and my bestie were asked to move to another seat. It was actually better seats than what we had. Since we were so accommodating, we were given some l…

Soup(er) Sunday!

This past Sunday I hosted a Crafty with Canon party. I won the party through House Party (I love this site!).

Initially I was planning to do a few different finger foods. Well, the temperature dropped and I wanted soup. And chili. So I made both! And my sister also made a soup that was super delicious. I used my usual go to chili recipe, except I doubled up the seasonings because I didn't have a chili seasoning pack. I think it actually tasted better! I made it in my electric pressure cooker! It was so much faster and it tasted better than it usually does. I'm in love with my pressure cooker and would like another one. Anyone have one they want to give me?

Anyway, we had fun exploring the Canon Pixma printer and printing out photos and making cute little frames! But the food was really the star of the show! I'm going to link to all of the recipes because aside from small adjustments, none of them were my own!
