Giveaway: Purex Crystals Aromatherapy

Hey y'all!

You know how sometimes you have a bad day and you think "Tomorrow will be better?" And then tomorrow comes and it's WORSE?! OMG I've had like two weeks of that. No lie. Was in desperate need of a stress reliever, a massage, a good glass of wine, SOMETHING!

One morning I woke up, little Boogie had somehow peed out of her diaper, up her back and onto my bed. The diaper wasn't even wet. How in the hell did THAT happen? Neither here nor there. I strip the bed and throw the sheets downstairs. We continue our morning routine. I take her downstairs to munch on some Cheerios until we get ready to leave (she eats breakfast with her grandma). Then BAM she throws up all over me, her, the floor, her clean clothes, EVERYTHING. Then, disgusted with her vomit, she proceeds to wipe it off of her arm, throwing glorious baby juice everywhere. Sigh. She laughs.

Now, not only am I going to be late for work, we are going to have to sit in traffic (3 school zones) for 20 minutes. In those 20 minutes, she decides she wants to scream at the top of her lungs. It's only 7:30 am.

I have neglected to put the sheets in the washer. Dang it. Work SUCKED that day. Like really sucked. We get home, and there is this little box sitting on the front porch. A box from Purex. OH YEAH! It contains a bottle of Purex Crystals Aromatherapy in "Well Being" scent. Hallelujah!

So now, let's wash these sheets! I opened the bottle and took a whiff and did NOT like the scent! OMG! I contemplated whether or not I wanted my sheets to smell like this for WEEKS. But then said "What the heck?" and just went for it.

I washed and dried the sheets and it surprisingly smelled better once they were out of the dryer. I was nervous and did not want to have to wash those sheets again. Crisis averted! Then all went back to normal in the Jones household and we were well.

I happen to like the Purex Crystals and want to try the other scents...I probably will. I'm a bit of a Purex junkie.

Black Panther: Movie Review

Please tell me y'all have seen the movie? If you haven't, don't read this post!

Let me give you a little bit of my back story on this Marvel Cinematic Universe. I am a Marvel fan. I don't read the comics, but the movies?! I'm here for them. Some of them are blah, but I watch them anyway. Why? Because usually they overlap and share stories. So, in preparation for the opening of Black Panther, I watched ALL of the Marvel movies in order of the stories, not the release date. I followed CNET's guide and it was pretty accurate. I did not watch the TV shows because I would still be watching. You don't have to. The movies will fill you in pretty well.

Now, for what I thought.

1. This movie was beautiful! The colors, the wardrobes, the technology, the natural hair, the beautiful black people that starred in this film, it was amazing!

2. The women. OMG. The WOMEN! The strong women in the movie inspired me. Okoye makes me want to shave my hair back off. Nakia makes …

Pura Vida!

Hey y'all!

I keep making promises to do better about posting and then I break those promises. So I won't make any such promise this time!

I wanted to give you all a little run down on a trip I recently took (and LOVED). Two of my sisters and my two best friends and I decided to make a run for the equator. To Costa Rica! We started planning pretty early and got tickets and such purchased. We stayed in Jaco (pronounced Haa-CO). I'm still not sure I'm saying that correctly. You should have seen the looks on the immigration officer's face when I pronounced it as it is spelled. I'm pretty sure he called me an ignorant American.

Anywho, we flew from Charleston because they had the better fares and schedules at the time that we booked. Charleston to Miami to Jan Santamaria Airport. Something happened on our flight and me and my bestie were asked to move to another seat. It was actually better seats than what we had. Since we were so accommodating, we were given some l…

Soup(er) Sunday!

This past Sunday I hosted a Crafty with Canon party. I won the party through House Party (I love this site!).

Initially I was planning to do a few different finger foods. Well, the temperature dropped and I wanted soup. And chili. So I made both! And my sister also made a soup that was super delicious. I used my usual go to chili recipe, except I doubled up the seasonings because I didn't have a chili seasoning pack. I think it actually tasted better! I made it in my electric pressure cooker! It was so much faster and it tasted better than it usually does. I'm in love with my pressure cooker and would like another one. Anyone have one they want to give me?

Anyway, we had fun exploring the Canon Pixma printer and printing out photos and making cute little frames! But the food was really the star of the show! I'm going to link to all of the recipes because aside from small adjustments, none of them were my own!
