The Daycare Crud

Hey friends!
I'm writing to you a sleep deprived haze. But you all were on my mind and I realized how much I miss you!

I hope you all are doing well and getting more sleep then I am! Why am I not getting any sleep you ask? Well...

Two weeks ago my little Boogie was enrolled in daycare. By the end of week one she was sick. I'm talking snotty nose, coughing up a lung sick. By the middle of week 2, the cough was worse. I had taken her to the ER on a Saturday with instructions to follow up with her primary Doctor. At that appointment she was diagnosed with pneumonia.

So, when she sleeps she coughs. When she coughs too hard she vomits. So neither of us have had much sleep lately and both of us need it. Pray for us y'all!

With multiple trips to the doctor, more medicine than she's ever taken in her 2.5 years of life, she's showing signs of improvement but still has a long way to go.

I've never had pneumonia and I pray to God I never get it and she never gets it again. Settling a 2 year old for 4-5 breathing treatments a day gives me cardio that I otherwise wouldn't get so I guess that's a plus!

She still cries at daycare drop off and it makes me question my decision a little. I hope her being home a few days doesn't set us back too bad! I can already tell she's learning a ton. Even through the tears.

Happy almost Spring guys! Don't forget to set your clocks forward an hour!

Pura Vida!

Hey y'all!

I keep making promises to do better about posting and then I break those promises. So I won't make any such promise this time!

I wanted to give you all a little run down on a trip I recently took (and LOVED). Two of my sisters and my two best friends and I decided to make a run for the equator. To Costa Rica! We started planning pretty early and got tickets and such purchased. We stayed in Jaco (pronounced Haa-CO). I'm still not sure I'm saying that correctly. You should have seen the looks on the immigration officer's face when I pronounced it as it is spelled. I'm pretty sure he called me an ignorant American.

Anywho, we flew from Charleston because they had the better fares and schedules at the time that we booked. Charleston to Miami to Jan Santamaria Airport. Something happened on our flight and me and my bestie were asked to move to another seat. It was actually better seats than what we had. Since we were so accommodating, we were given some l…

New School Dating

How many single readers do I have? Are you struggling with dating? No? Good for you! Yes? Why is it so hard?! Sigh.

Well, I have several thoughts on that last part. Mostly, I'm glad that it is not just ME that dating is so hard for.

Online Dating - Dating sites specifically.

Y'all, I signed up for online dating and almost instantly regretted it! I paid for a month and cancelled my subscription after two weeks. What are you really here for? Who sent you? Those are the questions I wanted to ask most of the guys that messaged me. Mostly they just lurked on my profile. Like, don't you know these sites tell me when you view my profile? I can see it. Why aren't you saying anything? Do I have a boob hanging out in one of my pictures? Phew, no I don't. Sigh. So yeah, that got nowhere. I'm impatient, I know, but online is not for me. Clearly it works for some people though. I find that if you will lie about the simple things, it will be impossible for me to trust you wit…

Baby No More, Baby Magic is FOUR!

Like seriously, where did the time go?

She was just a wee little thing yesterday! Now she is sassy, independent and full of honesty. Like FULL of honesty. She knows nothing about your feelings so she doesn't give 2 cents about hurting them. The kid just tells it like it is. And I hope she never changes.

I decided not to have a party this year. But guess what? It turned into a party anyway! Friends don't let friends eat cake alone apparently! It was awesome! The night before I baked her cake. She refused to go to sleep so I let her decorate some of the extra cupcakes. She insisted on licking ALL the frosting when we were done. When she finally went to sleep, I hand pumped what seemed like a thousand balloons - and my carpal tunnel is still yelling at me about it. I put the balloons on the floor in her room so she would be surprised when she woke up. She was! She woke up singing "Mommy, it's morninggggg, it's my birthdayyyyyyyy!" She's so stinking cute!
