WOO SAHH

Lordy.

The past few weeks have been nuts! We moved into our new house after almost a month of repairs. Everything was going fine until it wasn't! It's been in the 90's here and it is super hot. And guess what? My AC broke. Not once, but twice within a week! ANNNNDDDD then my plumbing lost it's mind (and is still on the fritz). But let's all say a prayer that it will be fixed tomorrow!

On top of all of that I've been having crazy health issues. A few weeks ago I went to pick my mom up from having surgery and while the nurse was giving the at home instructions I started not feeling too hot. I got up to "get some air" and BAM. I passed slam out. Scared the crap out of my mom and my niece. But after a few minutes I was fine. Or so I thought.

I went to the doctor just to make sure everything was OK and to appease my mom. Everything was NOT OK. Not OK. My doctor called and told me that I needed to get in to see my endocrinologist ASAP.

So I got an appointment at his earliest opening (yesterday). When he saw my blood work he said "WHOA" and told me not to take any Synthroid for 7 days. And he lowered my dosage. Of course after being told that I was in "hyper" mode again I started noticing all of the symptoms. I hope they ease quickly. And I hope I don't start back gaining weight. I thought I was doing really well dropping the pounds. I even managed to wear a size 10 dress to a wedding this past weekend!

So y'all keep me in your prayers that this dosage will be correct soon. I mean, it's only been almost 2 years. Sheesh.

Take care of yourselves! Be kind to others! Always spread love!

XOXO

Black Panther: Movie Review

Please tell me y'all have seen the movie? If you haven't, don't read this post!

Let me give you a little bit of my back story on this Marvel Cinematic Universe. I am a Marvel fan. I don't read the comics, but the movies?! I'm here for them. Some of them are blah, but I watch them anyway. Why? Because usually they overlap and share stories. So, in preparation for the opening of Black Panther, I watched ALL of the Marvel movies in order of the stories, not the release date. I followed CNET's guide and it was pretty accurate. I did not watch the TV shows because I would still be watching. You don't have to. The movies will fill you in pretty well.

Now, for what I thought.

1. This movie was beautiful! The colors, the wardrobes, the technology, the natural hair, the beautiful black people that starred in this film, it was amazing!

2. The women. OMG. The WOMEN! The strong women in the movie inspired me. Okoye makes me want to shave my hair back off. Nakia makes …

Pura Vida!

Hey y'all!

I keep making promises to do better about posting and then I break those promises. So I won't make any such promise this time!

I wanted to give you all a little run down on a trip I recently took (and LOVED). Two of my sisters and my two best friends and I decided to make a run for the equator. To Costa Rica! We started planning pretty early and got tickets and such purchased. We stayed in Jaco (pronounced Haa-CO). I'm still not sure I'm saying that correctly. You should have seen the looks on the immigration officer's face when I pronounced it as it is spelled. I'm pretty sure he called me an ignorant American.

Anywho, we flew from Charleston because they had the better fares and schedules at the time that we booked. Charleston to Miami to Jan Santamaria Airport. Something happened on our flight and me and my bestie were asked to move to another seat. It was actually better seats than what we had. Since we were so accommodating, we were given some l…

Soup(er) Sunday!

This past Sunday I hosted a Crafty with Canon party. I won the party through House Party (I love this site!).

Initially I was planning to do a few different finger foods. Well, the temperature dropped and I wanted soup. And chili. So I made both! And my sister also made a soup that was super delicious. I used my usual go to chili recipe, except I doubled up the seasonings because I didn't have a chili seasoning pack. I think it actually tasted better! I made it in my electric pressure cooker! It was so much faster and it tasted better than it usually does. I'm in love with my pressure cooker and would like another one. Anyone have one they want to give me?

Anyway, we had fun exploring the Canon Pixma printer and printing out photos and making cute little frames! But the food was really the star of the show! I'm going to link to all of the recipes because aside from small adjustments, none of them were my own!
